Application Notes:

  • Operating pressures and temperatures are subject to the limitations of the tubular gauge glass and washer composition…consult with EFI for gauge glass ratings.

  • If alternative gasket materials (i.e. PTFE, graphite, etc.) are desired in place of rubber (where rubber is stated), the dimensions may vary from those indicated for rubber…consult with EFI.

  • “Automatic” refers to valves furnished with ball checks that will seat in the event of glass breakage shutting off the escape of fluid or steam.  (Note: Only the lifting ball checks are recommended for steam service; rolling ball checks must be removed for steam applications.)

  • Most gauge valves can be converted to “non-automatic” by removing the ball checks…please specify if so desired.

  • If gauge glass and guard rods are desired, the center to center distance between the upper and lower valve connections must be specified.

  • WARNING: For gauge valves recommended for steam service, use with PROCESS SATURATED STEAM APPLICATIONS ONLY.  They ARE NOT TO BE USED WITH SUPERHEATED STEAM.
